Walt
Pienkos most recent position was Senior Vice President, Human
Resources at Veritas Software. During his tenure Veritas grew
to become a world-class software provider and Walt was part of
the team merger team when Veritas was acquired by Symantec.
Previously, Walt
was the Vice President of Human Resources for the Computing
Systems Division of Hewlett Packard. Computing Systems included
commercial and home PCs, HP NetServers, UNIX servers, storage &
software products such as OpenView.
Walt rejoined HP in
May 1999. From 1984 – 1987, Walt served as Corporate Personnel
Manager responsible for all Human Resources programs at
Corporate as well as HP Labs, Customer Support, Marketing
Services and The Computer Systems Group. Prior to that, he
served as Cupertino Groups Personnel Manager which included ITG,
PCG, ISG, PNG, US Field Operations, Major Account Marketing and
the Sales Center. He also served as Personnel Manager in
Medical Products from 1975 – 1984.
Prior to rejoining
HP, Walt was Vice President of Human Resources and
Administration at Covad Communications and was responsible for
all Human resource Programs for Covad’s rapid expansion into the
growing Internet Access Provider marketplace. Walt was also the
co-founder and VP of Administration of NeTpower, Inc. He helped
create the strategies and programs that allowed the company to
grow to $45 million in revenues and become a recognized leader
in the creation of their NT Systems business. Previous to this
position, Walt was VP of Administration at MIPS Computer
Systems.
Walt received his
Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School, Boston, MA in
1975. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Holly Cross
College, Worcester, MA in 1968.
