Based in
Minneapolis, Doug Binning specializes in senior-level executive
search assignments in the High Tech, Healthcare, Consumer Products, Real
Estate, and Medical Device sectors. He also is the firm's
Managing Partner.
For the past nineteen years, Doug has been primarily
responsible for directing recruiting efforts and human resources
activities for leading businesses, in both the United States and
overseas. Functionally, Doug focuses on senior-level
assignments for chief executive officers, presidents, and
functional heads of sales, marketing, technology and finance.
Doug
leads client development efforts and search execution for
clients ranging in size from large, publicly-held corporations
to emerging growth entrepreneurial organizations.
Prior to his most current role as a Managing Partner, he was the Founder and President of Upstart Solutions, a
leading executive search and consulting firm with a focus on
early stage technology ventures.
Before joining Upstart Solutions in 1997, Doug was with Accenture’s new venture group in Minneapolis, where he
was responsible for all recruitment and human resources
activities for five new ventures and their related operations in
six countries across the globe. Before joining Accenture, he was employed by Cray Research where he
spearheaded recruiting efforts in both Cray US and the Cray
Super Server groups.
Prior to his
return to the
Minneapolis
area, Doug served as the Director of Human Resources for Office Depot’s expansion into Canada. Before his
move to Canada and for nearly seven years he had the
opportunity to work for Apple Computer in a variety of
Human Resources roles in Silicon Valley, St. Louis and
Minneapolis.
He currently serves on the non- profit board of directors for
Hammer in Minneapolis, an organization that serves individuals
with developmental disabilities.
Doug holds a BA in Economics from the Wheaton College,
Wheaton Ill.
